Double Major and Minor Programs Adaptation
2018-2019 Academic Year
DOUBLE MAJOR PROGRAM FOR
ARCHITECTURE
Students, who aim to apply to the Department of Architecture’s Double Major Program from other undergraduate departments of Yasar University, must fulfill the conditions stated at the “Yasar University Double Major and Minor Education and Teaching Directive“. The ones who intent to start a double major program can apply at the earliest third Semester and the latest at the beginning of the fifth Semester of their major program.
Student Affairs declares an official announcement before Fall and Spring Semesters. Students who passed the preliminary conditions may apply for Double Major Programs to the Student Affairs Office till the given deadline. The admission process is carried out by the Student Affairs and is announced to the students after the approval document received from the Department of Architecture.
The applications are evaluated according to the university’s directive. Students from Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Department are responsible to complete 131 ECTS (see Table 1), and from the Faculties other than Architecture are obliged to complete 217 ECTS (see Table 2). Students enrolled in the program must complete all compulsory courses listed below. In one Semester, student can take maximum 15 ECTS. After the graduation from their main program, students can take up to 30 ECTS in the Double Major Program.
The students, who began the double major program in Architecture before 2018-2019 Academic Year Fall Semester, are obliged to follow the instructions in the adaptation document prepared by the Program Coordinator while they enrol the courses throughout their education.
Notes
- 2018-2019 Academic Year curriculum will be applied to all students.
- Before enrolling in ARCH 3331 Summer Practice: Construction Site, students are required to successfully complete ISG 9110 İş Sağlığı ve Güvenliği I (for foreign students ISG 9120) and 20 workdays Construction Site practice.
- Before enrolling in ARCH 4431 Summer Practice: Office, students are required to complete 20 workdays Office practice.
- The students cannot be exempt from attendance for the courses with applied course hours in which they reenroll because of their prior failure or withdrawal.
- Students who undertake Erasmus Summer Practice are exempt from ARCH 3331 Summer Practice: Construction Site or ARCH 4431 Summer Practice: Office with regard to the Decision of the Faculty Administrative Board.
- Students who have already taken ISG 9110, ISG 9210, SOFL 1101 and SOFL 1102 in their main program, are exempt from them for their Architecture Degree.

MINOR PROGRAM FOR
ARCHITECTURE
Students, who intent to apply to the Department of Architecture’s Minor Program from other undergraduate departments of Yasar University, must fulfill the conditions stated at the “Yasar University Double Major and Minor Education and Teaching Directive“. Applications for Minor program can be made at the beginning of the third term and the latest at the beginning of the sixth term of the main program.
Student Affairs declares an official announcement before Fall and Spring Semesters. Students who fullfill the preliminary conditions may apply for Minor Program to the Student Affairs Office till the given deadline. The admission process is carried out by the Student Affairs and is announced to the students after the approval document received from the Department of Architecture.
The aim of the Minor program is to increase students’ knowledge in another undergraduate program. In order to acquire Minor degree in Architecture the students applied from Interior Architecture and Environmental Design program are responsible to complete 65 ECTS Credits (see Table 1), the ones from outside the Faculty of Architecture are obliged to complete 75 ECTS Credits (see Table 2). Students enrolled in the program must complete all compulsory courses listed below. In one term, student can take maximum 5 ECTS Credits. After the graduation from their main program, students can take up to 30 ECTS Credits.
