Arch4151 – Virtual Environments in Architecture
This course aims to teach students virtual environments in relation with the architectural design. Throughout the semester students will be introduced virtual environments and will have the chance to experience virtual environments for different purposes. During the course, students will be expected to grasp the basic concepts of creativity, decision making, design cognition, create architectural solutions to introduced problems within games, and work with their classmates to develop design methodologies within design processes in virtual environments. This process will be conducted within different cognitive applications, research design setups, and gamification implementations with different roles. The course environment depends highly on group explorations rather than lectures. This exploration includes students’ self-developments towards understanding design cognition.
