Students of the Faculty of Architecture are obliged to do internship according to the Yaşar University Internship Directive.
The internship period is 20 working days for each internship. There are two internships, construction site and office internships. (The construction site internship must be done before the Office Internship, and two internships cannot be done consecutively in the same summer term *)
ARCH 3331 The construction site internship: It is an internship to be done by students who have completed their 4th term.
ARCH 4431 the Office Internship: 6. It is the internship to be done by the students who have completed their term.
The internship course will be added to the lectures to be taken by the student by the advisors during the Fall Semester Course Registration Week following the Summer Term where the student is intern.
At the end of the internship process, the student who fails the evaluation made by the Internship Committee has the right to repeat the internship in the next semesters. But; If the student is not successful in these internship repetitions, he / she will not be able to receive a graduation certificate.
Internship is not possible during the education period. (During the pandemic period, internships are allowed to work for at least 3 full days between certain dates during the period.**)
The process to be followed by the student during the internship (Valid for the Pandemic Period):
The student who has agreed with the company / institution to which the internship will be made must fill in the form in the announcements published on the Sakai page and website of the department during the internship application periods. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that the information on the form is complete and correct. Forms filled with incomplete and / or incorrect information will not be considered. Internship days should be calculated to be exactly 20 working days.
The student, who has completed the internship application form correctly and completely, will be sent a Social Security Employment Declaration from the Human Resources Directorate to the e-mail address with the extension “@ stu.yasar.edu.tr”. The STUDENT STATEMENT part at the bottom of the form must be filled in completely by the student and sent to the address “firstname.lastname@example.org”.Öğrencinin stajıyla ilgili herhangi bir değişiklik olması durumunda (staj iptali, staj yeri değişikliği, tarih değişikliği, vb.) derhal Staj Komisyonuna haber vermesi gerekmektedir. Internship Report; It is the report in which the works that are followed up daily during the internship process are presented in detail, supported by visual materials. Everything in this report (daily followed works, drawings and visuals) should be in the form of the internship report provided on the website.
Work will be followed regularly during the internship, and the work done will be recorded in the internship report daily.
After the start of the lessons, the internship report, signed and stamped on each page, will be scanned and uploaded to the Sakai page of the internship course in which the student is registered.
Internship report will be written in English on computer.
As a result of the evaluation made by the internship commission, the information that the student is successful or unsuccessful in the internship will be entered into the system and the student will be able to see it as an internship course evaluation. No grading will be made.
Unsuccessful students will repeat their internships.
DEPARTMENT OF ARCHITECTURE ARCH 3331 SITE INTERNSHIP: Students of the Faculty of Architecture, who have completed their 4th semester, are obliged to do an internship for a minimum of 20 working days in construction sites built by the offices supervised by the Chamber of Architects.
The building where the students of the Department of Architecture will do their internship must be at the rough construction stage. Student; foundation construction, carcass system construction, iron assembly, concrete pouring, wall building, roof etc. The student should follow the entire rough construction process in order and define it in the internship report.
During 20 working days, the student can see different stages and details by participating in different constructions of the company he / she will do internship.
While transferring the works followed in the construction site internship to the internship notebook, the student should definitely make the technical descriptions of these works and support them with visual materials (photographs, sketches, etc.). The different stages of the manufacturing processes should be documented by taking photographs. These photos should be numbered and should have an explanation below them. Verbal and visual expression should take place together.
In the Internship Report, at least one page should be reserved for each day, the number should be increased according to the need, the pages should be stamped and signed by the authorized architect / engineer. The report will be scanned and uploaded to Sakai.
DEPARTMENT OF ARCHITECTURE ARCH 4431 OFFICE INTERNSHIP: Students of the Faculty of Architecture, who have completed their 6th semester, are required to do an office internship for a minimum of 20 working days in the offices supervised by the Chamber of Architects. The company manager or responsible architect in the workplace where the internship will take place must have been working in this profession for at least 5 years.
The student should spend the internship time in the most efficient way for him / her; At the end of the internship, he / she should have the ability to apply this knowledge by using the theoretical knowledge gained during his architectural education.
During the internship, the student should take part in the design and drawing stages of architectural preliminary and application projects and contribute to these stages.
The student should verbally describe the works he / she has done or watched in the internship notebook and support it with visual elements (drawing, table, etc.). However, the size of these added drawings should be maximum A4 format. Drawings prepared with programs such as Autocad, 3Dmax, ArchiCAD, Photoshop can be uploaded to Sakai if needed.

Points to note about the internship book:
The daily report of the internship book is to write down the work done, the transactions you take part in or observe separately for each day.
Technical report is the writing of how the works are done technically in passive language.
In case the same job repeats on different days, it should be stated on which days the work was done after the technical explanation of the work mentioned in the technical report. (Day 2,5,17,18 etc.)
Notes that should not be forgotten for the submission of the internship book:

If the student cheats, the internship book does not fit the format and does not deliver the book, the internship will be considered unsuccessful.
Students must upload the signed and stamped report to Sakai on the delivery date, and the signed and stamped Evaluation Form must be sent to the department by mail or e-mail by the internship company. A total of 2 documents will be submitted.
Each page of the internship notebook must have the company stamp and the signature of the authorized architect / engineer.
* Only if the students who are in graduation status request to do their construction site and office internships one after the other at the end of their Spring or Fall Semester, their applications will be evaluated by the commission.
** Students who are in graduation status and students who will continue a part of their education abroad within the scope of university-related exchange programs (ERASMUS etc.);
– The internship applications they make for the Midterm Vacation period (provided that they complete 20 working days) following the fall term will be evaluated by the commission. The relevant dates are as follows;
Internship Application: January 15 – January 31
Submission of Internship File: 15 April-30 April
– If the internship applications of the students who fall within the scope of the specified conditions are accepted, the internship course will be added to the courses that the student will take by the advisors during the Spring Semester Course Registration Week following the Internship Holiday.
Since graduation students who have only failed the internship course (s) are considered as ‘Leap Year’, their internship course (s) registrations are made in the registration week of the following semester by charging per credit.
